When I walked into a gym a few months ago I genuinely didn’t think I’d be able to get one small box jump - any kind of impact on my blade was still really scary. I used to do box jumps before I lost my leg and wanted to give it a try…so I did. And loved it. After a few months of building up strength and coordination, I can now consistently get 30” jump, and am working on getting higher! I filmed this video about a month ago and its crazy to me how much has changed since then. With my leg pain getting substantially worse and not being able to wear my leg, I pretty much have it off all the time in public unless I’m moving from point A to point B. And its genuinely…fine. Every once in awhile I get self conscious or feel odd, but those feelings have about 90% dissipated. Being “forced” to face that fear has been incredibly healing and I now feel like I can rock it just as much as I can rock a prosthetic. 💜🦿
